I'm going to jump in time a bit. Ever since November, we more or less all stopped working on WTTMV... So I feel like I can talk about the lore of the story. Barely anyone come here anyway, hehe. Most of what I will write was actually already shown, just not outright said, but this shall set records straights. Note that each character has their own specific pov, and this is just a general retelling of the chronological events.
At the beginning, there was nothing. And then, the bigbang. The creation of a beloved muppet show, Welcome Home. A bubble in a void reverently called Out of Bounds, the nothingness outside of the universe of the show. But well, the Out of Bound si not so empty. It was at first an anomaly. A copy of a Wally Darling, but off colors. There was nothing but this being in the void... And then a light. From a tv. With the show.
He wqatched and watched. More tv appeared, as the Out of Bound and WH universe expended, variants started to appear. Slightly different versions of the same show, alternatives in designs and characters...
And it kept growing and growing, and he kept watching and watching. Eventually, he grew lonely, longing to meet the friends he saw on the TVs. One day, mistakingly, he pushed on one of the tv...only to fall in its universe !
I will spare you the details from then on. Observer's story is till Ross's to tell.
The multivers grew and grew exponentially. After a certain incident, Observer decided to help the universes, altering their scripts by butting in their stories.
Eventually, one day, he noticed a beta Julie in a fashion AU. In which he decided to join, morphing to a beta Wally.
For this arc too, I shall not share more details, but we know how it ended. Corruption. For being strayed away from its script, the AU corrupted and crumbled on itself... and as Observer discovered in horror, so did all the AUs he helped.
We call the event the 'Cancellation'. Hundreds of AUs disappearing all at once, shaking the whole Out of Bounds.
Let's rewind a bit. There are more characters active pre Cancellation. Admin, an other anomaly, who had been stuck in the film space of the Out of Bound, but eventually learned that she could too travel to AUs, settling in one specific AU, and Wayfinder, daughter of gods creator, fallen goddess in dreamless sleep since her fall. And Faded, a Poppy whose world faded as the show ended and faded from memories...
Faded was in stasis, half asleep, half faded, for a long time, bound to be lonely forever in her blank space. But then, a star falling from the star came along and entezred her domaine. We know this story too? The Poppy nursed the star back to health, and soon enough, the two weren't so lonely anymore ! And then the cancellation happened.
Faded, who had developted empathic powers to counter her half blindstate, felt all the unbearable pain of hundreds and hundreds of characters as their AUs crumbles from corruption. One could expect her to crumble too under the pressure, butr strangely, that's not what happened. Someone had to step up, and rescue who she could. Gaining control over her world, the Poppy opened her world to refugees and hurt souls, to help them like she did Filante. After the cancellation, the Out of Bounds had to rebuilt itself and come back to a balance. Eventually, Filante found Faded a new name : Peacekeeper.
The Out of Bounds is an entity witgh strange will and powers. From the nothingness, it creates whole new beings... like a little Eddie who was then left to wander, and eventually found Wayfinder, and awoke her, with nothing to him but a letter to deliver. That's how Courier and Wayfinder became active.
Meanwhile, Observer set to atone for his mistakes. He now maintains a watchful eye on the AUs, to make sure none ever goes off scripts again.But no everyone is so forgiving to him, for all the blood on his hands. Admin, during that time, became active too, and soon enough as she happened to save a few aus, was regarded as a hero, protector of AUs.
Little by little, more and more characters, anomalies or refugees, came to be active in the Out of Bounds. Some will meet, some wont quite yet. Some are friends, close even, others are not on great terms.
And this, Reader, is the first half of this story's "backstory". Next up will be the chronology of the Reconstruction Era :3
